Homemade Cream of Mushroom Soup Recipe

Course : Side Dish

Cuisine: Indian

Servings: 6-7 pax

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time : 20 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 250 gms white button mushrooms

  • 500 ml milk

  • 2 cups water

  • 2 small finely chopped onions

  • 1/2 tbsp chopped garlic

  • 1/2 tbsp butter

  • 1/2 tbsp oil

  • 1/4 cup oats powder

  • 1 tsp pepper powder

  • 1 tsp roughly ground pepper

  • salt as per taste

Method:

  1. To prepare oats powder in a grinder take half cup oats and grind into a fine powder. Keep aside for future use.

  2. Wash and dry pat the mushrooms then thinly slice them.

  3. Take a pan heat the butter and oil then saute the garlic and add the chopped onions and cook till translucent.

  4. Add all the sliced mushroom , salt and pepper powder, cook till soft. To it sprinkle the oats powder and mix well.

  5. Add the milk along with 2 cups water and cook on low flame for 4-5 minutes or till you get a soup consistency.

  6. Remove from flame and when cool blend with a blender or grind into a mixer.

  7. Remove in soup bowls and garnish with some ground pepper.

Enjoy!!!

Note: The soup can be kept chunky or smooth as per preference.
