Homemade Soya Chaap Masala Recipe
Ingredients:
500 gms soya chaap
2 big onions chopped finely
2 small tomatoes pureed
3 green chillies slit in the center
1 tbsp garlic paste
1 tbsp chopped ginger
1 bay leaf
1 cinnamon stick
1 green cardamon
1 tsp jeera ( cumin seeds)
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tbsp chilli powder
1/2 tbsp Kashmiri/ deggi chilli powder
2 tbsp coriander powder
1 /2 tbsp garam masala
salt as per taste
3 tbsp kasuri methi ( dried fenugreek leaves )
some chopped coriander leaves
oil for deep frying
For Marination:
1/2 cup thick curds ( yogurt)
1/2 tbsp chilli powder
1 tsp pepper powder
Method:
Remove the soya chaap from the sticks and cut them into big pieces.
Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the soya chaap on medium to high flame till golden brown and crispy. .
In a bowl add all the marination ingredients and the fried soya. Mix well and allow it to rest for 10-15 minutes. In a pan cook the marination till it is dry. Keep aside.
In a pan or kadai heat 3-4 tbsp ghee add the jeera when it splutters, saute the garlic and ginger then add the onions and cook till soft .Add the turmeric, green chillies and tomato puree. Cook till oil drops are seen on the sides of the pan. Add all the dry spices, kasuri methi, salt and the marinated soya with one cup water. Simmer on low flame stirring at intervals for 4-5 minutes till the gravy comes to a semi consistency.
Remove in a serving dish and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Enjoy this yummy soya chaap masala with butter naan, bread kulcha , chapati or parathas.
