Homemade Shahi Soya Chaap Recipe
Ingredients:
5 soya chaap sticks
1 tbsp chopped ginger
1 tbsp chopped garlic
3 onions chopped in cubes
4 tomatoes chopped in cubes
1/2 cup cooking cream
5-6 tbsp cashewnut powder
2 tbsp kasuri methi ( dried fenugreek)
1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
1/2 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1/2 tbsp garam masala
1/2 tbsp jeera (cumin) powder
1/4 tsp pepper powder
salt as per taste
1-2 bay leaves
coriander leaves for garnishing
2-3 pinch red food colour powder ( optional )
Method:
Remove the soya chaaps from the sticks and cut them into big thick round pieces.
Rub 2-3 pinch of red food color and salt on the cut soya chaaps .Keep aside for 10-15 minutes.
Heat some oil in a pan and saute the cut soya chaap for 4-5 minutes.
In a pan cook the onions and tomatoes with half cup water till the onions and tomatoes are soft and mushy. Let it cool then in a grinder grind it into a fine paste.
In the same pan heat 2-3 tbsp oil, add the bay leaves, ginger and garlic saute for few seconds, then add the onion tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Add all the dry spices, kasuri methi, cashewnut powder and cook for 3-4 minutes, then add one cup water and allow it to boil on low flame . Add and the Soya Chaaps and cream, mix well and cook for a minute or two.
Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve this yummy rich and creamy soya chaap with naan ,paratha or kulcha.
