Homemade Sabudana (Sago) Khichdi Recipe
Ingredients:
3 cups sabudana ( sago)
2 cups potatoes chopped into cubes
1-2 green chilli chopped finely
2-3 string curry leaves chopped finely
some corainder leaves chopped finely for garnishing
1 juice of lemon
1/2 tbsp mustard seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder
1-2 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp sugar
salt as per taste
some peanuts (optional)
Method:
Clean, wash and soak the sabudana (check Tip # 37) in 3 cups water for
6-7 hours or overnight.
In a heavy based vessel, heat 6 -7 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters add the turmeric powder, curry leaves and chopped potatoes.
Cover and cook till soft.
Once the potatoes are cooked add the sabudana, red chill powder, salt, and sugar.
Mix well, cover and cook till the sabudana is soft.
Remove in a serving bowl then add lemon juice, peanuts and garnish with some chopped coriander leaves.
