Homemade Onion Tomato Chutney Recipe
Ingredients:
2 onions
6 tomatotes
1 big piece ginger
10 garlic pods
6-7 whole red chilli
1 tbsp chana dal
1 tbsp urad dal
salt as per taste
For Tadka :
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tbsp ghee for tadka
Method:
Chop the onion, tomatoes and ginger into big pieces.
Wash the dals and soak it in some water for about 10-15 minutes .
Remove the water and keep aside.
In a pan take some oil add the dals sauté for a few seconds then add the remaining ingredients without the ginger and garlic and cook till soft and mushy. Allow it to cool.
In a grinder make a fine paste of the ginger, garlic and the cooked mixture of onion and tomato.
Remove in a bowl. Heat 1 tsp ghee in a small pan when hot add the mustard seeds let it splutter then pour it on the chutney.
Enjoy this yummy chutney with idli, dosas or neer dosa.
