Homemade Schezwan Bites Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups maida ( white flour)
1/4 cup chings or homemade schezwan sauce
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup water approximate
salt as per taste
oil for frying
Method:
Mix the maida, salt and oil together till you get a texture like bread crumbs. Then add the schezwan sauce to it and water little by little till you get a medium hard dough. Allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes.
After the rest time knead the dough again and divide it into 4 parts. Make each part into a smooth ball. Take one ball and roll into a circular medium thickness disc. With a bottle cap or small round cutter make a round cut then another overlapping it. ( see below image)
Then separate the pieces. Repeat the process till all the dough is used.
In a kadai heat some oil then fry the bites in small batches on low flame till crispy and golden brown in colour.
Remove on a tissue towel and when cooled store in an airtight container.
Enjoy this spicy, crispy snack with your tea or coffee.
