Homemade Oreo Modak Recipe

Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients for Dough / Covering :

  • 48 nos Oreo chocolate biscuits

  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

  • 1/4 cup milk

Ingredients for Stuffing/Filling

  • cream of Oreo biscuits

  • 2 tbsp chopped pistachio

  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds

  • 4 tbsp dessicated coconut

Method:

  1. Remove the cream from all the biscuits with the help of a spoon. Keep the biscuits and cream separately.

  2. Keep half tbsp dessicated coconut aside for garnishing.

  3. In a grinder jar add all the biscuits and make a fine powder by grinding on pulse mode.

  4. Remove the biscuit powder in a bowl and mix the powder sugar in it. Add milk little by little to make a semi soft dough. Cover and keep for future use.

  5. To make the filling in the chocolate cream add the chopped nuts and coconut and mix well. Then make equal size balls of it.

  6. Once the dough and filling is ready take a modak mould and lightly grease it with some ghee. Close the mould then add a little dough and with your fingers move it to the sides and make a hollow in the center. Place one stufffing ball in the center and close it with some dough. Press and remove the extra dough from it. Slowly open the mould and remove the modak from it. Take some dessicated coconut in a plate and roll the modak lightly in it.

  7. Repeat the process till all the dough and filling is used up.
