Homemade Moru Curry (Yogurt Curry) Recipe

Homemade Moru Curry (Yogurt Curry) Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups curds (yogurt)

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil preferably

  • 4-5 small sambar onions chopped long

  • 1 -2 green chilli slit in between

  • 2 garlic pods chopped finely

  • 1 tsp ginger chopped finely

  • 2-3 strings curry leaves chopped finely

  • 1-2 whole red chilli

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1/2 tsp methi seeds (fenugreek seeds )

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • salt as per taste

  • some coriander leaves chopped finely for garnishing

Chhayas food moru curry - ingredients

Method:

  1. In a bowl whisk the curds, water and salt together.Keep aside.

  2. Take a pan heat coconut oil on low flame then add the mustard seeds when it splutters put in the methi seeds, turmeric, garlic, ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, whole red chilli and chopped onions. Saute till the onions are soft.

  3. Switch off the flame then add the curds mixture and cook only on low flame stirring continuously for about 5 minutes.Do not wait for it to boil otherwise the curds will curdle.

  4. Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve this yummy moru curry with rice.
