Homemade Moong Dal Dhokla Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups split moong dal (yellow dal)
8 green chillies
2 inches ginger
1 small bunch corainder leaves
1 sachet ENO
salt as per taste
For Tadka:
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp white til (sesame seeds )
1 string curry leaves
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup water
coriander leaves and grated coconut for garnishing
Method:
Clean , wash and soak the moong dal in water for 2-3 hours.
Clean, wash the ginger, green chillies and coriander leaves and chop into big pieces.
Remove water from the dal and in a grinder add the dal, chopped ginger, green chilies and coriander leaves and grind into a fine paste using very little water to make a smooth batter.
Keep the batter to rest for 30 minutes.
In the meantime heat some water in a vessel.
After 30 minutes add the ENO to the dal batter and mix lightly.
Grease a plate with oil and pour the batter in it.
Steam for 10-15 minutes.
Remove and let it cool.
Once cooled cut into square or triangle shape.
In a small pan heat oil for the tadka.
Add the mustard seeds when it splutters put the curry leaves, sesame seeds, water and sugar. Boil it for 2-3 minutes and then pour it on the Dhokla.
Garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconut .
Serve this yummy and healthy Moong dal Dhokla with green chutney.
