Homemade Instant Rawa Appe Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup rawa ( suji / semolina)
3/4 cup curds ( yogurt)
2 small onions chopped finely
2-3 green chillies chopped finely
3-4 string curry leaves chopped finely
1/4 cup coriander leaves chopped finely
1/4 tsp soda bi carb
salt as per taste
1 tbsp mustard seeds
oil
Method:
In a bowl add the rawa, salt, curds and about 2 cups water.Mix well. Allow it to rest for about 10-15 minutes.
Add the chopped onions, chillies. curry leaves and coriander leaves. Give it a good mix.The batter consistency should be similar to an idli batter. Add the soda and lightly mix it.
Heat an Appe pan add a drop of oil in each mould then drop a few mustard seeds when it splutters pour in some batter into each mould.Cover and cook on low to medium flame till it is brown. Flip each appe and sprinkle some oil on to each of them.Cover and cook again . When brown on both sides remove from flame and repeat the process till all the batter is used up.
Remove in a serving dish and serve with green chutney or coconut chutney.
