Homemade Yam Fry Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 gms yam ( suran)

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tbsp chilli powder

  • 1/2 tbsp corainder powder

  • 1 tbsp amchur powder ( mango powder)

  • 2 tbsp rice flour

  • salt as per taste

  • some chopped corainder leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Peel, wash and chop the yam into medium thickness triangular pieces.

  2. In a pan heat some water add 1 tsp salt and few drops of lemon so that the yam does not turn black and cook till it is semi cooked. Drain and keep aside.

  3. In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients and add 1- 2 tbsp water to make a thick paste.

  4. Add the yam in the masala paste and slowly coat each yam piece with the masala.

  5. In a non stick pan heat 2-3 tbsp oil and then place the yam pieces one by one in the pan and cook on low flame till each yam turns golden brown on both sides.

  6. Remove in a serving plate and garnish with some chopped corainder leaves,

Enjoy this yummy Yam Fry as a side dish with rice or chapati.
