Homemade Sprouted Moth Chaat Recipe

Servings: 4-5 pax

Sprouting Time : 1-2 days

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups Moth/ Matki / Math sprouts

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • salt as per taste

Ingredients For Topping:

  • 1/4 cup sweet chutney

  • 1 big onion chopped finely

  • 1 big tomato chopped finely

  • 2 green chillies chopped finely

  • 1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder

  • 1 tsp chaat masala

  • 1/4 tsp black saltI

  • 1/2 lemon

  • some chopped coriander leaves

Method:

  1. Clean, wash and soak 2 cups moth in water for 4-5 hours or overnight.

  2. Drain out all the water after 4-5 hours. Cover and keep it in a warm place for 12 hours or overnight or till it sprouts.

  3. In a pressure cooker heat 1 /2 tbsp oil then add the turmeric powder, sprouted moth, chilli powder, salt and 2 cups water and mix well.

  4. Close the cooker and cook upto 3 whistles.

  5. Once the pressure is released open the cooker and lightly give it a stir .

  6. Remove in a serving dish . Sprinkle some chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, lemon juice, black salt, chilli powder, chaat masala, sweet chutney and chopped coriander leaves.

Enjoy this healthy and less oil sprouted moth chaat for breakfast or evening snack
