Homemade Raw Mango Rice Recipe

Homemade Raw Mango Rice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup basmati rice

  • 1 cup raw mango grated

  • 2 green chillies slit in the center

  • 2-3 strings curry leaves chopped

  • 4-5 tbsp fresh grated coconut

  • 2 tbsp chana dal

  • 2 tbsp urad dal

  • 1/4 cup peanuts

  • pinch of asefodita

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 2 tbsp sambar masala (MTR brand)

  • salt as per taste

  • some coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Clean, wash and soak the rice for half an hour. Then cook the rice till soft , drain the extra water and keep aside.

  2. Clean, wash and soak both the dals in some water for 5-10 minutes, then remove the extra water and keep aside,

  3. Heat 3-4 tbsp oil in a heavy based vessel then add the asefodita and mustard seeds when it splutters add the peanuts and fry on low flame till it is golden brown in colour, remove and keep aside. Add the soaked dals and saute for a minute or two. Add the turmeric powder, green chillies, curry leaves and grated raw mangoes. Cook for 4-5 minutes till the mango is soft.

  4. Add the sambar masala, salt, fried peanuts and rice . Mix well.

  5. Remove in a serving plate and garnish with coriander leaves and coconut.

This delicious and tangy Raw Mango Rice is ready to eat.
