Homemade Kesar Mawa Peda Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened mawa or khoya
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
few chopped almonds and pistachio
1 tbsp milk soaked with 6-7 saffron strands
Method:
In a pan roast the mawa on low flame stirring continuously for 5 minutes. Allow it to cool slightly.
When the mawa is warm mix the sugar, saffron milk and cardamom powder to make a soft dough.
Pinch a little mawa mixture from the dough and make a ball then flatten it with your palms. With the help of the thumb press slowly in the center of the ball to get a peda shape. Alternatively it can also be put in a peda mould to get a perfect shape.
Repeat the process till all the mixture is used up.
Decorate each peda with 2-3 chopped nuts.
