Homemade Coconut Barfi Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh grated coconut

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 1 tsp cardamom powder

  • 3-4 tbsp ghee

  • 15-20 pistachio chopped

Method:

  1. In a pan or kadai heat ghee, then add the coconut, sugar, cardamon and milk.

  2. Mix well and cook on low flame stirring continuously for about 15- 20 minutes or till the mixture forms a lump and leaves the sides of the vessel.

  3. Grease a plate or mould and spread the mixture evenly by lightly pressing it.

  4. Sprinkle some chopped pistachios on it.

  5. Allow it to set for an hour.

  6. Cut iinto desired shapes.

  7. Store in an airtight container.

Note: Preferred food colour can also be added to the coconut barfi.
