Homemade Tawa Pulav Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice 

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  • 4 big onions chopped finely

  • 3 big tomatoes chopped finely

  • 3 tbsp chopped garlic

  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger

  • 2-3 green chillies chopped

  • 2-3 carrots cubed and boiled

  • 2 green capsicum cubed

  • 1 cup peas (frozen/fresh)

  • 1 cup paneer cubes 9 frozen /fresh)

  • 2 tbsp kashmiri cilli powder

  • 4-5 tbsp pav bhaji masala

  • salt to taste

  • 1 small bunch chopped coriander leaves for garnishing


Method:

  1. Clean, wash and soak the rice for half an hour .Cook the rice by adding 1 tsp salt and turmeric powder for the yellow colour. Each grain should be separate, do not over boil it. Drain and keep aside.

  2. Take a big non stick Tawa add 1/2 cup of butter, saute the ginger and garlic for 1-2 seconds then add the onions cook till translucent. Then add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, dry spices and cook till the drops of oil comes out from it. Add the carrots, capsicum, peas and paneer and cook for 5 minutes.

  3. Lastly add the rice and mix well .

  4. Garnish generously with coriander leaves.

  5. Remove in a serving plate with a big drop of butter.
