Homemade Sweet Potato Matar Sabzi Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg shakarkand (sweet potato)

  • 1 cup matar (frozen peas)

  • 1 tbsp ginger julienne

  • 2-3 green chillies cut into long pieces

  • 1 tsp jeera ( cumin seeds )

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tbsp chilli powder

  • 1 tbsp coriander powder

  • salt as per taste

  • half lemon juice

  • some chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Wash and dry pat the shakarkand. Peel lightly so that some of the skin remains on them and then cut into medium size cubes.

  2. In a pan heat 3 tbsp ghee then add the jeera when it splutters add the the turmeric and chopped shakarkand. Cook on low flame for 5 minutes then add the ginger, green chillies, matar and salt.

  3. Add half cup water. Cover and cook till soft. Then add the chilli and coriander powder. Mix well and cook for another 4-5 minutes .

  4. Remove in a serving dish and garnish with coriander leaves.

Enjoy this yummy and tasty sabzi with chapati or parathas.
