Homemade Sooji ( Semolina) Halwa recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sooji/rawa

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 cup water

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup ghee

  • 1 tsp cardamom powder

  • 5-6 strands saffron

  • 10-12 raisins

  • some chopped pistachios

Method:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and roast the sooji on low flame stirring continuously till it is light brown in colour.

  2. Add the milk, saffron, sugar and cardamom powder to the water and give it a boil.

  3. Soak the raisins in warm water for 10-15 minutes then gently squeeze the water from it , keep aside.

  4. Add the boiled water and raisins to the roasted sooji and cook on low flame till the water dries.

  5. Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with pistachios.

Enjoy this mouthwatering halwa on festivals and during puja.
