Homemade Sindhi Sai Bhaji Recipe
Ingredients:
3 bunch palak (spinach)
2 cups chana dal
5 small brinjals
2 big onions chopped long
2 big tomatoes chopped long
1 green chilli roughly chopped
1/2 tbsp ginger roughly chopped
1/2 tbsp garlic chopped finely
1 tsp jeera (cumin ) seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
salt as per taste
Method:
Clean, wash and soak the chana dal in 2 cups water for about half an hour.
Remove the stem of the palak. Wash and chop roughly.
Wash and cut the brinjals into thick long pieces.
In a pressure cooker heat 2 tbsp oil add the jeera when it splutters add the turmeric powder then add the ginger, garlic and green chilli saute for a minute add the onions and cook till soft. Then add the chopped tomatoes and red chilli powder.
When the tomatoes are cooked add the brinjals, palak , chana dal and salt.
Mix well and add 4 cups water. Close the cooker and cook on medium flame for 15- 20 minutes.
When the pressure is released open the cooker and churn it well with a hand rai. The bhaji should be of semi thick consistency.
Remove in a serving bowl.
Serve this delicious sindhi sai bhaji with rice or chapati.
