Homemade Rice Kheer Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 liter full fat milk

  • 1/4 cup basmati rice

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp cardamom powder

  • 8-9 chopped pistachio

  • 6-7 strands saffaron

Method:

  1. Clean ,wash and soak the rice for about half an hour.

  2. Soak the saffron in 1 tbsp water and keep aside.

  3. Add the rice to the milk and keep cooking on low flame, stirring at intervals.

  4. After 10-15 minutes add the cardamom powder, sugar and saffron to the milk.

  5. Continue cooking the milk with the rice on low flame till the rice is soft and mushy. Once the milk thickens remove from the gas.

  6. Pour in a serving bowl and garnish with chopped pistachio.

    Serve this yummy rice kheer chilled or hot.

Note: In place of raw rice 1/2 cup cooked rice can also be taken. All above steps remains the same.
