Homemade Raw Papaya Stuffed Paratha Recipe

Ingredients for Stuffing:

  • 1 small raw (green) papaya

  • 2 green chillies chopped finely

  • 1/2 tbsp ginger chopped finely

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • salt as per taste

  • 2-3 tbsp coriander leaves chopped

Ingredients for Paratha Dough:

  • 3 cups multigrain flour or wheat flour

  • 1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds )

  • salt as per taste

Method:

  1. Peel the skin of the papaya .Wash and grate the papaya.Keep aside.

  2. In a bowl add all the ingredients of the paratha dough and mix well. Make a very soft dough by adding little water at a time.Let the dough rest for about 10-15 minutes.

  3. In a pan heat 2 tbsp oil add the raw papaya and sauté for 1-2 minutes then add all the remaining ingredients of the paratha stuffing. Cover and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes. Remove in a plate and allow it to cool.

  4. Make equal size balls of the dough. Take one dough ball roll it to form a small disc and fill in some papaya stuffing. Bring all the sides together to from a round ball. Dust some flour on a rolling board and roll to form a round shape paratha of medium thickness.

  5. Heat a tawa, grease it with some oil and place the rolled paratha on it. When it is slightly cooked flip the paratha put some oil on and around it and let it cook for sometime. Flip again and put some oil on the other side too and let it cook. When brown on both sides remove from the tawa.

  6. Repeat the process till all the parathas are made.

Serve this yummy papaya stuffed paratha with some butter, yogurt and pickle.
