Homemade Pav Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups maida (white flour )

  • 2 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp instant yeast

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 2-3 tbsp butter

Method

  1. Soak yeast in lukewarm milk with sugar and keep it for 5-10 minutes till it rises or froths.

  2. In a bowl mix the flour and salt together. Make a hollow in the center and pour the yeast mixture. Start kneading it by adding water little by little till you get a very sticky dough. Add the butter and knead it for about 15 minutes till a smooth ball is formed. Keep it covered with a plate or cling in a warm place for one hour or till it rises to double its size.

  3. After 1 hour remove from the vessel and put it on a board pat it to remove all the excess air.

  4. From the dough make equal size balls and keep it in a greased baking tray close to each other for 1 more hour for second proofing.

  5. Before baking lightly brush butter or milk on all the pav.

  6. Bake at 180 C for 20- 25 minutes .

  7. Remove from oven and cover it with a clean cloth .Let it cool for 15-20 minutes.

    Enjoy this Homemade Pav with chai , bhaji or yam keema.
