Homemade Pav Bhaji Dhokla Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup leftover pav bhaji

  • 1 cup rawa/ semolina

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/2 cup curds/yogurt

  • 1/2 tsp soda bi carb

  • 1/2 tsp citric acid

  • salt as per taste

  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1/4 tsp asefodita

  • 1 green chilli chopped finely

  • 1 small onion chopped finely

  • 1 string curry leaves chopped finely

  • some chopped coriander leaves

  • 1/2 tbsp oil

  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1/2 tsp pav bhaji masala

Method:

  1. To prepare rawa dhokla mix the rawa, salt, curds and citric acid in a bowl then add 1 cup water to it and whisk well so that there are no lumps. Allow it to rest for 20 minutes.

  2. In a steamer or vessel boil some water.

  3. Grease a dhokla plate or cake tin .

  4. Add the soda to the batter and mix . The batter should be of pouring consistency if it is too thick a little water can be added. Pour in the greased plate/ tin and place it in the steamer/vessel. Steam it for 15 minutes or till the dhokla is cooked. To check pierce a knife in it if it comes out clean the dhokla is cooked.

  5. Remove from the steamer and allow it to cool. Cut the dhokla into half then spread the thick bhaji on one side of the dhokla . Sprinkle some chopped onion, green chilli, corainder leaves, chilli powder and pav bhaji masala all over the bhaji. Place the other piece of the dhokla over it and press lightly. Cut into small pieces.

  6. To prepare the tadka heat the oil then add the mustard seeds when it splutters add the asefodita and curry leaves. Pour the tadka all over the cut dhokla . Garnish with some chopped coriander leaves and sprinkle some chilli powder and pav bhaji masala on them
