Homemade Onion Uttapam Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg idli batter

  • 2 green capsicums chopped into small cubes

  • 2 onions chopped into small cubes

  • 1 -2 green chillies chopped finely

  • 1 /2 tbsp red chilli powder

  • 1/2 tbsp chaat masala

  • salt as per taste

  • 3-4 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Method:

  1. Add salt in the idli batter and mix well. Keep aside.

  2. To prepare the uttapam toppings take a bowl add the chopped onions, capsicum, green chillies, coriander leaves , salt, chilli powder and chaat masala and mix well.

  3. Heat a non stick dosa tawa and pour 1-2 ladle of the batter on the tawa and make a half inch thick pan cake. Sprinkle some toppings and oil all over the the pan cake. Cover and cook on low flame till the below is slightly brown in colour . Slowly turn and cook on the other side also. Flip and remove in a plate.

  4. Repeat the process for the remaining batter also.

  5. Serve it with green chutney or ketchup.
