Homemade Moringa Leaves Sabzi Recipe

Ingredients :

  • 4 cups moringa leaves

  • 2 tbsp moong dal

  • 1 whole red chilli

  • 2 small onions chopped finely

  • 4-5 garlic pods chopped finely

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1/4 tsp asafodita

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tbsp chilli flakes

  • salt as per taste

  • 1/4 cup fresh grated coconut

Method:

  1. Remove the moringa leaves from the stem and wash them thoroughly. Keep aside.

  2. Clean, wash and soak the dal in some water for 30 minutes then drain and keep aside.

  3. In a pan heat 2 tbsp oil add the mustard seeds when it splutters add the asafodita then the soaked dal . Cook for a few seconds then add the whole chilli ,chopped garlic and sauté for a few seconds.. Add the onions and salt and allow it to cook till soft and translucent. Add the turmeric powder ,the leaves and the chilli flakes. Mix well then add a cup of water. Cover and cook stirring at intervals till the dal is cooked and soft.

  4. Switch off the flame and add the grated coconut. Mix well.

  5. Remove in a serving dish.

    Enjoy this healthy sabzi with rice or chapati.
