Homemade Kesar Mawa Peda Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened mawa or khoya

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

  • few chopped almonds and pistachio

  • 1 tbsp milk soaked with 6-7 saffron strands

Method:

  1. In a pan roast the mawa on low flame stirring continuously for 5 minutes. Allow it to cool slightly.

  2. When the mawa is warm mix the sugar, saffron milk and cardamom powder to make a soft dough.

  3. Pinch a little mawa mixture from the dough and make a ball then flatten it with your palms. With the help of the thumb press slowly in the center of the ball to get a peda shape. Alternatively it can also be put in a peda mould to get a perfect shape.

  4. Repeat the process till all the mixture is used up.

  5. Decorate each peda with 2-3 chopped nuts.
