Homemade Kala Chana Chaat Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1+ 1/2 cup kala chana or black chana

  • 1/2 cup fresh yogurt

  • 4 tbsp green chutney

  • 3 tbsp sweet chutney

  • 2 boiled potatoes cut into cubes

  • 1 chopped tomato

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 1 chopped green chilli

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • 2 tsp chaat masala

  • 1 tsp roasted jeera (cumin) powder

  • salt as per taste

  • 1/2 lemon juice

  • 3 tbsp chopped raw mango (optional)

  • 1/4 cup nylon sev

  • some coriander and mint leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Clean ,wash and soak the kala chana overnight or for 7-8 hours.

  2. Drain the water and pressure cooker the chana with 4 cups water and 1 tsp salt upto 5 to 6 whistles.

  3. Open the cooker and remove all the water from the chana. Do not throw away the water but use it for curries or soups.

  4. Add the yogurt to the boiled chana and mix well. Then add all the remaining ingredients leaving out the sev to the boiled kala chana and give it a good toss. Garnish with some chopped coriander, mint leaves and sev.

    Serve this healthy and tasty kala chana chaat for evening snack.
