Homemade Kacchi Haldi Sabzi Recipe

Ingredients :

  • 250 gms kacchi haldi ( fresh turmeric)

  • 1 cup green peas (frozen / fresh )

  • 2 tomatoes and 3 green chillies puree

  • 1 tsp chopped ginger

  • 1/2 cup curds (yogurt)

  • 1/4 tsp asefodita

  • 1 tsp jeera ( cumin seeds)

  • 1/2 tbsp chilli powder

  • 1/2 tbsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tbsp kasuri methi

  • some chopped corainder leaves for garnishing

  • salt as per taste

  • 4 tbsp ghee

Method:

  1. Peel, wash and dry pat the kacchi haldi.Chop it very finely into small cubes. Alternatively it can also be grated.

  2. In a pan heat ghee then add the chopped haldi and fry till the rawness of the haldi comes out or ghee is seen on the sides of the pan . Remove and keep it aside.

  3. In the ghee which is left in the pan add the asefodita and jeera when it splutters add the ginger and tomato purée. Cook on low flame for about 5-10 minutes then add the curds and stir continuously so that it does not curdle.Add all the dry spices and salt then add the haldi and peas along with 1 cup water.

  4. Cover and cook on low flame till the water dries.

  5. Remove in a serving dish and garnish with chopped corainder leaves.

Enjoy this healthy sabzi with chapati or rice.
