Homemade Instant Stuffed Mawa Modak Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups or 500 gms grated mawa / khoya

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp cardamom powder

  • 1/2 tbsp ghee

  • 2 tbsp each of chopped almond and pistachio for stuffing/filing

Method:

  1. In a pan heat the ghee then add the grated mawa and fry on low flame for 1-2 minutes only till it softens.

  2. Remove in a plate and allow it to cool then only mix the powder sugar and cardamom powder. Keep aside for future use.

  3. To prepare the stuffing in a small bowl add the the chopped almonds, pistachio and 2 tbsp mawa. Mix well and make small balls of it.

  4. Close the modak mould and then fill it with some mawa mixture. Press and make a cavity in the center and place a ball of the stuffing in it. Then cover it with some more mawa. Press and then open the mould. Slowly remove the modak and place it on a plate.

  5. Repeat the process till all the mawa mixture is used up.

Serve these mouth watering modak to Bappa.

Note: In case the mawa mixture is too soft keep it in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes before making the modak.
