Homemade Instant Rawa Dhokla Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups rawa ( semolina / sooji )

  • 1 cup curd

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 2 sachet ENO

  • salt to taste

For Tadka:

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1 tsp white til (sesame seeds)

  • 2 greens chilies cut into slit

  • few curry leaves

  • coriander leaves finely chopped for garnishing

Method:

  1. In a bowl add rawa, salt and sugar and give it a good mix. Then add the curds with the water in it .Mix again. Keep it to rest for 20-30 minutes.

  2. In a vessel boil some water for steaming the dhoklas.

  3. Add the ENO to the mixture and mix it lightly. The batter should be of pouring consistency. If required a little water can be added.

  4. Grease a cake tin or Dhokla plate and pour the batter in it.

  5. Place the tin or plate in the hot water vessel and steam it for 10-15 minutes.

  6. Check by piercing a knife, if it comes out clean the dhoklas are ready.

  7. Remove and cut into square pieces.

  8. For the tadka heat oil in a pan , add mustard seeds as soon as it splutters add the remaining ingredients and pour the tadka on the cut doklas.

  9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with green chutney.
