Homemade Instant Jowar Flour Idli Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup jowar flour

  • 1 cup fine rawa (semolina)

  • 1 cup curds ( yogurt)

  • salt as per taste

  • 2 tsp or 1 sachet ENO

Method:

  1. In a bowl mix the jowar flour, rawa and salt. Then add the curds and about 2 cups water or as required till an idli batter consistency is obtained. Cover and allow it to rest for 15 minutes.

  2. In an idli steamer or vessel heat some water.

  3. Grease an idli plate with some oil and keep aside for future use.

  4. After the rest time add the ENO and stir lightly. Pour a ladle of the batter into the idli moulds and then place it in the vessel with hot water. Cover and steam for 15 minutes or till the idlis are done. To check if the idlis are done pierce a tooth pick or knife in it if it comes out clean the idlis are cooked.

  5. Allow the idlis to cool down then remove in a serving dish.

  6. Serve these soft and fluffy idlis with coconut chutney.
