Homemade Instant Jowar Dosa Recipe

Servings: 10-12 nos

Rest Time: 10-15 minutes

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup jowar ( sorghum ) flour

  • 4 tbsp rice flour

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • 1 tsp jeera (cumin ) seeds

  • 1 tsp coarse pepper powder

  • salt as per taste

  • 2 chopped onions

  • 2-3 chopped green chillies

  • some chopped coriander leaves

  • oil for cooking

Method:

  1. In a bowl add the jowar flour, rice flour, turmeric, chilli powder, jeera, pepper and salt. Mix well then add about 3-4 cups water little by little to form a very thin pouring consistency batter without any lumps. Allow it to rest for 10-15 minutes.

  2. After the rest time add the chopped green chillies and coriander leaves.If the batter has thickened, more water can be added.

  3. Heat a non stick pan and when it is hot sprinkle some chopped onions all over it and pour a ladleful of the batter in circular motion to from a round dosa.

  4. Sprinkle some oil all over the dosa and cook on medium flame till it is crispy and golden brown in colour. No need to flip and cook on the other side.

  5. Repeat the process till all the batter is used up.

  6. Serve this yummy dosa with turai peel thecha or any chutney of your choice.
