Homemade Instant Bajra Dosa Recipe

Servings: 18-20 Dosas

Soaking Time: 6-7 hours / overnight

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time : 30 minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups whole bajra/ pearl millet

  • 6 tbsp chana dal

  • 1 tsp methi seeds/fenugreek seeds

  • salt as per taste

  • oil for cooking

Method:

  1. Clean, wash and soak the bajra, chana dal and methi seeds together in some water for 6-7 hours or overnight.

  2. After the soaking time drain out all the water. Add the above soaked ingredients in a grinder jar with a little water and grind it to a fine paste. The batter should be of dosa consisitency .

  3. Remove the batter in a bowl . Add salt to it and mix well.

  4. Heat a non stick tawa and pour a ladle of the batter on the tawa and spread it in circular motion to form a thin round dosa.

  5. Sprinkle some oil all over the dosa. Cover and cook on medium to high flame till it is brown and crispy. No need to cook on the other side. Remove on to a plate.

  6. Repeat the process till all the batter is used up.

Enjoy this yummy and healthy dosa with green chutney and coconut sambol.
