Homemade Idli Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups idli batter

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce

  • 1 small onion chopped finely

  • 1 small green capsicum finely chopped

  • 1 small red capsicum finely chopped

  • 1 small yellow capsicum finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 tbsp oregano

  • 1/2 tbsp chilli flakes

  • salt as per taste

Method:

  • Add the salt in the idli batter and keep aside.

  • Grease the idli mould and pour some of the batter in each mould.

  • Heat some water in a vessel to steam the idlis.

  • Place the idli stand in the water and steam it for 15 minutes. Prick with a knife to check if the idlis are done. If the knife is clean it means the Idlis are cooked.

  • Remove and allow it to cool then spread some pizza sauce on each idli and top it with some chopped onions, capsicums , cheese, oregano and chilli flakes.

  • Again place the idli stand in the hot water and steam for 3-4 minutes or till the cheese melts.

  • Remove the idlis from the moulds and place in a serving plate.

Enjoy this yummy idli pizza for your evening snack or as a party starter.

Note: To prepare instant pizza sauce mix 1 tbsp tomato ketchup, 2 tbsp schezwan sauce (chings) , 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, a little oregano and chilli flakes. Mix well and pizza sauce is ready.
