Homemade Hummus Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 tin/ can white chana (chickpeas)

  • 2-3 garlic pods

  • 1/2 cup tahini paste

  • 1 lemon juice

  • 1 tsp jeera powder (cumin powder)

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • salt

Method:

  1. Drain the chickpeas from the tin and wash them .

  1. Remove the outer skin from all the chickpeas.

  2. Put all the above ingredients in a grinder and make a soft smooth paste by adding a little cold water or ice if necessary.

  3. Remove in a serving bowl and sprinkle some cayenne or paprika over it along with some olive oil.

  4. Hummus is ready and can be eaten with Falafel , Lebanese bread (Kabus) or Salad.

    Alternatively Hummus can also be used as a dip for salads and chips.
