Homemade Green Peas Pulao Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice

  • 3 cups green peas (frozen or fresh)

  • 4 onions cut into long

  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger

  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic

  • 1 chopped green chilli

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 2 green cardamom

  • 2 star anise

  • 1 tbsp shahi jeera

  • 1 tbsp garam masala

  • salt as per taste

  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Clean, wash and soak the rice for half an hour in 3 cups water.

  2. Clean and wash the green peas.Keep aside.

  3. In a pressure cooker heat 5-6 tbsp oil add the shahi jeera when it splutters add the whole garam masala , garlic and ginger saute for few seconds then add all the chopped onions and green chilli. Cook till the onions are soft.

  4. Add the peas and cook for 5 minutes then add the garam masala , salt, rice with water. Mix well.

  5. Close the pressure cooker and cook upto 3 whistles.

  6. Open the pressure cooker once the pressure is released and mix well.

  7. Remove in a serving dish and garnish with coriander leaves.

    Serve this yummy green peas pulao with pickle and yogurt.
