Homemade Green Peas Pulao Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups basmati rice
3 cups green peas (frozen or fresh)
4 onions cut into long
1 tbsp chopped ginger
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 chopped green chilli
2 bay leaves
1 cinnamon stick
2 green cardamom
2 star anise
1 tbsp shahi jeera
1 tbsp garam masala
salt as per taste
2 tbsp coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
Clean, wash and soak the rice for half an hour in 3 cups water.
Clean and wash the green peas.Keep aside.
In a pressure cooker heat 5-6 tbsp oil add the shahi jeera when it splutters add the whole garam masala , garlic and ginger saute for few seconds then add all the chopped onions and green chilli. Cook till the onions are soft.
Add the peas and cook for 5 minutes then add the garam masala , salt, rice with water. Mix well.
Close the pressure cooker and cook upto 3 whistles.
Open the pressure cooker once the pressure is released and mix well.
Remove in a serving dish and garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve this yummy green peas pulao with pickle and yogurt.
