Homemade Gobi Matar Keema Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 gms gobi (cauliflower)

  • 1 cup peas (frozen or fresh)

  • 2 big onions chopped finely

  • 2 big tomatoes chopped finely

  • 1 green chill chopped finely

  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger

  • 1tbsp chopped garlic

  • 1-2 bay leaves

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1/4 tsp asefodita

  • 1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tbsp chilli powder

  • 1/2 tbsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp jeera (cumin ) powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1/4 tsp pepper powder

  • salt to taste

  • some coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Clean and wash the gobi thourghly, when dry chop the gobi in a chopper or grate it.

  2. In a pan heat 3-4 tbsp oil, add the bay leaves, cinnamon then asefodita, jeera when it splutters add the garlic, ginger, green chillies and onions. Saute on low flame till the onions are light brown in colour then add the tomatoes and salt . Cook till the tomatoes are soft and mushy and oil is seen on the sides of the pan.

  3. Add all the dry spices and mix well.

  4. Lastly add the gobi and half cup water. Cover and cook till the gobi is cooked and the water has dried.

  5. Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve this yummy Gobi Matar keema with chapati, paratha or rice.
