Homemade Daliya Motichoor Ladoo Recipe

Ingredients:
1.5 cups small daliya / lapsi (broken wheat )
1.5 cups sugar
1/2 cup ghee
4 cups hot water
1/2 tsp saffron powder or food colour
1 tsp cardamom powder
few chopped cashewnut and pistachio
silver foil for decoration (optional)
Method:
In a sieve wash the daliya and let all the water drain out.
Take a pan heat the ghee then add the washed daliya and roast on low flame till light golden in colour. Add the hot water and cook on low flame stirring at intervals till all the water is absorbed by the daliya.
Add the sugar and the food colour . Cook again on low flame stirring continuously till the sugar melts. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes till it leaves the sides of the pan.
Remove from flame. Add the cardamom and nuts and mix well.
Allow the mixture to cool. Take some mixture in your palms and roll into small round ladoo.
Repeat the process till all the mixture is used.
Decorate with silver foil and serve.
Enjoy this healthy and low calorie Motichoor ladoo without the use of besan and deep frying.
