Homemade Crushed Peanut Chikki Recipe

Servings: 20-25 pieces

Total Time : 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup roasted peanuts without skin

  • 1 cup jaggery

  • 1 -2 tbsp ghee

Method:

  1. Take a grinder jar and coarsely grind the roasted peanuts in pulse mode only . Keep aside for future use.

  2. In a pan heat 1 tbsp ghee add the jaggery and cook on low flame stirring continuously for 3-4 minutes. To check if the jaggery is done put a few drops in water and break it with your hands if it breaks with a crackling sound then the jaggery is cooked. If not then cook for a minute or two till it is done.

  3. Add the crushed peanuts to the jaggery and mix quickly on low flame for a second.

  4. Remove from flame onto a greased parchment paper or on a greased back of a plate.

  5. Spread the mixture with the back of a greased spoon and then quickly roll it with a greased rolling pin to make a thin rectangle chapati.

  6. With a help of a knife quickly cut into square pieces. Allow it to rest for 10 -15 minutes.

  7. Store in an airtight container for future use.
