Homemade Cornmeal Dosa Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cornmeal (makki flour)

  • 1/4 cup wheat flour

  • 1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds )

  • 1/2 tbsp chilli powder

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 /2 tbsp coriander powder

  • salt as per taste

  • 2-3 chopped green chillies

  • some chopped corainder leaves

  • 5 cups water


Method:

  1. In a bowl take the cornmeal, wheat flour , turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, green chillies and corainder leaves. Mix well, then add the water little by little ensuring that they are no lumps. The batter should be of a watery consistency. Allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes.

  2. Heat a non stick tawa when it is very hot pour a ladle of the batter evenly all over the hot tawa. Put some oil all over the dosa and cook on medium to high flame till it is golden brown in colour. Flip and cook on the other side also till crispy and brown.

  3. Repeat the process till all the batter is used.

    Serve this instant and crispy cornmeal dosa with green chutney or

    coconut chutney.
