Homemade Cluster Beans ( Gawar) Aloo Sabzi Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 gms cluster beans (Gawar) chopped into small cubes

  • 2 potatoes chopped into small cubes

  • 2 big onions chopped finely

  • 1 green chilli chopped finely

  • 1/2 tbsp ginger chopped finely

  • 2-3 pinch asafoetida

  • 1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1- 2 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1/2 tbsp amchur (mango powder )

  • salt as per taste

  • coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan add asafoetida, ajwain , turmeric powder, green chilli and ginger , saute for a second.

  2. Then add the chopped onions and cook till it is soft.

  3. Add the chopped potatoes. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  4. Add all the dry spices leaving out the garam masala and amchur powder. Saute the masala for a minute on low flame.

  5. Add the chopped cluster beans to the masala.

  6. Cover and cook on low flame stirring at short intervals.

  7. When soft add garam masala, and amchur powder .

  8. Cook till completely dry .

  9. Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves .

    Serve with chapatis or parathas.
