Homemade Chivda Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 250 gms cornflakes chivda

  • 1/2 cup peanuts with or without skin

  • 1/2 cup split roasted bengal gram (roasted chana dal )

  • 1/4 cup cashewnuts

  • 1/4 cup raisins

  • 9-10 curry leaves

  • 1-2 green chillies cut into big pieces

  • 2 dried whole red chilli

  • 1/2 tbsp chaat masala

  • 1/ 2 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • salt as per taste

  • oil for frying

Method:

  1. Heat 5 tbsp oil and deep fry on medium flame the cashewnuts, peanuts, raisins, green chillies and curry leaves one by one. Remove and keep it on a kitchen tissue paper.

  2. Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the Chivda in small batches on medium flame Remove on a kitchen tissue paper and keep for future use.

  3. In a bowl add all the fried ingredients along with roasted bengal gram , salt, sugar, red chilli powder and chaat masala, mix well.

  4. Store in an airtight container.

    Enjoy this tasty and crispy Chivda with your tea/coffee.
