Homemade Chilli Paneer Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup assorted capsicum cut into cubes

  • 1 small onion petals

  • 3 green chillies slit in the center

  • some chopped spring onions

For Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger finely

  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic finely

  • 3 -4 tbsp dark soya sauce

  • 1 tsp white vinegar

  • 1 tsp tomato ketchup

  • 1 tsp schezwan sauce

  • 1 tsp red chilli sauce

  • 2-3 tbsp corn flour paste

  • 1 tsp pepper powder

  • salt as per taste 

For Frying Paneer:

  • 250 gms paneer cubes (frozen or fresh )

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • 2-3 tbsp cornflour

  • salt as per taste

  • oil for shallow frying

Method:

  1. Mix the chilli powder ,salt and cornflour in the paneer and then shallow fry it. Keep aside.

  2. In a pan heat 3 tbsp oil saute the ginger and garlic then add the onion petal, capsicum and green chillies. Saute on high flame for a minute or two. In a bowl mix all the sauces, soya, vinegar, pepper and salt. Pour it in the pan and cook for a minute then add the fried paneer. Lastly add the cornflour paste and one cup water . Cook for a minute or two.

  3. Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with some spring onions.

Serve with Hakka Noodles or Veg Fried Rice.

Note: It is optional to shallow fry the paneer.
