Homemade Cabbage Thoran Recipe
Ingredients:
250 gms cabbage
2 whole red chillies
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp urad dal
1 tbsp chana dal
1/4 cup fresh grated coconut
1/2 tbsp chopped ginger
2-3 chopped green chillies
1 tbsp chopped curry leaves
some chopped corainder leaves for garnishing
salt as per taste
Method:
Wash and chop the cabbage into small cubes.
Clean, wash and soak both dals together in some water for 10 minutes. Remove the excess water and keep aside.
In a pan heat 2 tbsp oil add the mustard seeds when it splutters add both the soaked dals and cook on low flame till soft. Then add the turmeric powder, whole chillies, ginger and curry leaves. Saute just for a few seconds then add the chopped cabbage and green chillies . Cook on low flame stirring at intervals. When semi soft add the salt and grated coconut.
Remove in a serving dish and garnish with chopped coriander leaves..
Enjoy this tasty cabbage thoran with chapati or as a side dish with rice.
