Homemade Bread Upma Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 7-8 slice of white bread

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 -2 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1 green chill chopped finely

  • 1 string curry leaves chopped finely

  • coriander leaves chopped finely for garnishing

  • 1/2 juice of lemon

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • salt as per taste

Method:

  1. Cut the sides of all the bread slices and chop them into small square pieces.

  2. Add the chilli powder, salt, sugar, lemon juice and green chilli to the bread pieces and mix well.Keep aside.

  3. In a heavy vessel heat 3-4 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters add the curry leaves and turmeric powder.

  4. Add the chopped bread pieces mixed with the spices in the oil and sauté it for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle some water on it.

  5. Cover and leave it for 2-3 minutes.

  6. Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.

Enjoy this yummy bread upma for your breakfast or evening snack.
