Homemade Besan Chilla Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)

  • 1 big onion chopped finely

  • 2 green /red chillies chopped finely

  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves chopped finely

  • pinch of asefodita

  • I tsp jeera (cumin) seeds

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

  • salt as per taste

Method:

  1. In a bowl take besan , salt and all the dry spices add 2 cups water or more if required and mix well to get a flowing consistency batter similar to dosa batter. There should be no lumps in the batter.

  2. Add all the remaining ingredients in the batter and mix again.

  3. Heat a non stick tawa and spread the batter evenly in a circular motion to form a quater inch pan cake.

  4. Put a little oil around and over it and cook on medium flame.

  5. Flip the chilla and cook on the other side with a little oil on it.

  6. When brown and cooked on both sides remove from flame.

    Sprinkle some chaat masala and serve this yummy besan chilla with ketchup, green chutney and a drop of butter.
