Homemade Beetroot Tikki Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg beetroot

  • 4 medium size boiled potatoes

  • 2 medium size onions chopped finely

  • 4 green chillies chopped finely

  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger

  • 5 tbsp chopped corainder leaves

  • 1 tbsp chilli powder

  • 1/2 tbsp chaat masala

  • 1/2 tbsp jeera ( cumin powder)

  • 1/2 tbsp garam masala

  • salt as per taste

  • oil for cooking

Method:

  1. Peel, wash and grate the beetroot.

  2. Peel and grate the boiled potatoes also.

  3. In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil and saute the grated beetroot for 5 minutes on low flame till the moisture dries in it. Remove in a plate and allow it to cool.

  4. Take a bowl add the beetroot, and all the above ingredients. Give it a good mix.

  5. Grease your palms and pinch some beetroot mixture and roll into small round tikkis.

  6. Repeat the process till all the mixture is used up.

  7. Take a non stick pan and place some tikki on it. Sprinkle some oil all around them and cook on low to medium flame till golden brown on both sides.

  8. Similarly cook all the beetroots tikkis.

  9. Remove in a serving dish and serve with green chutney and ketchup.
