Homemade Bathua Paratha Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups multigrain atta or wheat flour

  • 3 cups bathua leaves

  • 2 green chillies chopped finely

  • 1 tbsp ginger chopped finely

  • 1/4 tsp asefodita

  • 1/2 tbsp chilli powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • salt as per taste

  • 4 tsp oil

Method:

  1. Remove the bathua leaves from the stalk . Soak the leaves in water for sometime and then wash by changing the water 2-3 times. .Let it dry then chop it finely.

  2. IN a bowl add all the above ingredients together along with the chopped leaves and knead into a semi soft dough for the parathas.

  3. Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes.

  4. Make equal size balls of the dough and roll into round, triangle or square shape parathas.

  5. Heat a tawa, grease it with some oil then place one rolled paratha on it.

  6. Cook one side then turn and cook on the other side by applying a little oil. Similarly cook the other side till brown spots are seen .

  7. Alternately the bathua filling can be made separately then stuffed in a plain dough ball, rolled and cooked on a tawa in the same manner.

Serve these delicious parathas with bathua raita and pickle.
