Homemade Barley Pulav Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup barley

  • 1 big onion chopped finely

  • 1/2 cup carrots chopped finely

  • 1/2 cup french beans chopped finely

  • 1 orange or any other color capsicum chopped finely

  • 1 green chilli chopped finely

  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1/2 tbsp red chili powder

  • salt as per taste

Method:

  1. Clean, wash and soak the barley for 30 minutes. Then pressure cooker it upto 3 whistles.

  2. Once the pressure is released open the cooker. Remove all the water from the barley and keep it aside.

  3. In a pan heat 2-3 tbsp oil, add the mustard seeds when it splutters add the onions and green chilli. Saute till soft.

  4. Then add the chopped carrots and french beans, sauté on low flame till soft.

  5. Add the capsicum ,red chilli powder, salt and barley, cook for about 5 minutes.

  6. Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.

Enjoy this yummy and healthy pulav.
