Homemade Bajra Roti Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups bajra atta ( pearl millet atta )

  • 1 cup wheat atta

  • salt to taste

  • warm water

  • pure ghee for smearing

Method:

  1. Mix all the above ingredients together. Add warm water little by little and knead till a soft dough is formed.

  2. Allow the dough to rest for about 20 minutes. Then knead again to make the dough soft and smooth .

  3. Prepare equal size smooth balls of the entire dough.

  4. Dust some atta on the rolling board and with the help of a rolling pin roll into 6 inch diameter thick round roti . Alternatively it can be rolled into a round roti with the palms also.

  5. Heat a tawa then place the bajra roti on it.Cook on low flame for a few seconds then flip on the other side and cook till it is slightly brown. Remove from the tawa with a pair of flat tongs and cook on the gas on medium flame till brown spots are seen on both the sides.

  6. Smear ghee on the front side of the roti.

  7. Repeat the process till all the rotis are made.

Serve this tasty and healthy bajra roti with punchmel dal , dahi papad ki sabzi and some jaggery.
